Our first imported E28! We think this may be the quintessential daily driver spec/potential for an m30 canyon carver. She may not be perfect, but we can assure you this e28 has that close to new feel that all US based e28’s lack. This car comes with an original dealer document from BMW, in Japanese, showing a series of inspections over time. 2 keys are present with the car. 38k original miles.

Exterior:

Polaris silver, an OG to the BMW world. Paint is fully original, not exactly in the best of condition, however we would like to call this one a “10 footer”. We think the owner in Japan ran this car through an automated car wash far too often, as there are scratches along certain panels such as the front fenders and doors. These look like they can be corrected by a skilled detailer with enough time/equipment. Panels line up fantastic and show no sign of prior damage. There was a rear end incident that happened prior to us acquiring the car, the euro rear bumper doing its job and taking the majority of the damage. We’re currently sourcing a replacement OEM unit from Germany. The lower valance below the rear bumper has been punched in ever so slightly. All doors open and close perfectly, as does the trunk. A Pfeba front valance has been fitted as well as a Pfeba/Mtech rear spoiler. This is a slicktop car, so no worries regarding failing sunroof motors or switches. All in all, this car looks amazing. If you get up close, you can see its age, however we like to think its the cars unique way of showing patina.

Interior:

Houndstooth manual comfort seats, the perfect daily driver spec. This interior has aged beautifully, with the dark tones retaining color. There is a single rip in the drivers bolster, albeit it is very small. Otherwise the seats are in amazing condition with plenty of foam life. The rear seats look to have never been sat in. Headliner is tight and in perfect condition. Dashboard is experiencing a few cracks, quite standard with these cars. All dials and gauges work perfectly, radio is functional and utilizes the stock speakers and OEM antenna (that extends and retracts as it should). This does have the overhead OBC with no lights on. An intermittent “Brake Lining” light comes and goes, we’re guessing the car may need pads soon. Door cards are in amazing condition, as is glove box. Carpet is extremely clean and still has its original floor mats. Manual seat functions work as they should, arm rests look to have never been used. In the trunk, its just as clean. The original mats are present on all corners, the original spare and jack equipment can be found in its set home. The tool kit is 99% complete, the only thing missing is the small baggy of fuses that came from the factory.

Mechanical:

This car fires right up, idles fantastic and pulls great. We personally love the wacky and tiny 6 cylinder, paired with its “lightweight spec”, its peppy and fun. Timing belt was performed by a prior owner at 15,275 miles, so we would say its safe to drive as is but could benefit from a refresh as it was done in 2017. There are no leaks, odd noises, smells or smoke from this car. The underside is completely rust free, as are the usual spots that retain moisture. Brakes are tight, transmission shifts very well, all lights work as they should. Mirror adjustments are old and slow however they do work electronically. Oil is clean and level, as is brake fluid and coolant. Engine bay is very clean, unmodified and exactly what you’d want to see out of a low mileage E28. Some “weeping” of oil is happening but none has formed a drop or made contact with the ground.

All in all this is a great e28. Drive it as it sits. Or…. repaint it, m30 swap it, and enjoy.

Vehicle is sold with a clean Oregon title in the buyers name.
