If you haven’t heard of Land Rovers “Great Divide” trek of August 1989, we highly recommend watching the Youtube video created to document the journey. Only 400 of these Great Divide Edition Range Rover Classics were produced, all in one spec, one color, and no available options. Very few of these are left on the road and there is a cult following behind hunting down the final remaining examples and the memorabilia that came with them. We spent around 4 years hunting for one of these. This specific example lived in arid Oregon high desert and is extremely solid and has none of the usual RRC failure points.

To preface, this is a running and driving restoration ready RRC.

Exterior: Original paint and body panels, some denting along panels however the car is in great shape overall. Aluminum front bumper is in good shape, GDE specific wheels are also all in great condition and wrapped with brand new Falken tires. All original glass, rear hatch opens and closes perfectly and has no corrosion, minus a patch on the inside lower gate where the paint has been rubbed off.

Interior: Interior is complete minus the top of the center console. This car is itching for an interior refresh, however can absolutely be driven as is. Some electronics work, but not all, as to be expected from an old Rover. Interior is fully original.

Mechanical: This car runs and drives, albeit the lack of ABS makes braking a bit tricky. Car will fire right up and hold idle with some assistance initially. A idle control stepper would do wonders for this rig. There is some leaking from the transmission bell-housing whilst running. Engine sounds fantastic, and visually is extremely original and untampered with. Transmission shifts perfectly, transfer case operates as it should in high and low range. There is some noise coming from the front drivetrain, something along the lines of a damaged axle. ABS wants to build pressure but leaks fluid due to a failed seal, thankfully an easy fix.

All in all this car can have a 2-3 thousand invested into it and turned into a fantastic and rare daily driver, or it can be fully stripped to be an amazing example of Land Rover history.

We have a clean Oregon title in hand for this vehicle.
