1996 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Busso "Hörmann" *SOLD*

$16,500.00

Never available in America, this 90’s spicy meatball of an Italian sedan is iconic in the world of DTM racing. This car is also one of less than half a dozen in the country, and definitely the only one that looks like this. Odometer reads roughly 40k original miles. We have put quite a few more additional miles on this car in the short time its been here in the states and are blow away by how well it eats up the miles and corners. This is a touring car at its finest.

Exterior:

Rosso red is a beautiful color, change our mind… This particular Alfa has seen some sun unfortunately and therefor has some clear coat failure on the bumpers, small amount on the hood, and the rear spoiler. The rest of the body is actually very healthy and will polish out nicely. This particular 155 is fitted with a very rare 1990’s tuning company body kit from Hörmann, a German tuning company that made street versions of the famous DTM race cars kit. This is essentially un-obtanium in the world of 155’s. The kit itself is complete, and screams track focused as it uses rivets and other gussets/fasteners that we’ve only ever seen on period track cars. Condition wise is a bit of a mouthful for this one, as the kit was fitted likely 20-25 years ago. There is some chipping of the paint, misalignment in the front drivers side, a crack in the front bumper etc. All in all, the car can be driven as is for years as it sits, however we would recommend repair and repaint of the kit to better preserve it in the long run. The rear spoiler features an adjustable gurney flap as well as quad “DTM style” Zender exhaust tips with heat shields. The body is straight, all panels line up, no signs of accident damage.

Interior:

This is a 90’s icon, the cloth “bucket” seats are in great condition with light fading from use and age, however no rips or tears. Usual signs of wear and age on the dash, however nothing is loose or non functioning. No warning lights are on. AC is cold and heat is hot. An aftermarket radio with bluetooth works fantastic. The steering wheel is a genuine Zagato Momo and looks/feels incredible (these are quite coveted in the world of steering wheels and usually fetch $800-$1,200). Rear seats are in great condition. All dash gauges work as they should and read correctly. This is a slick top car so there is no sunroof. Drivers window functions however has a slightly louder sound to the motor.

Mechanical:

We just received the results of a PPI and compression test for this car from our local specialist, engine compression was 148-150psi across all cylinders. Vehicle fires right up, no smoke or odd noises. Clutch is healthy as is transmission, rev match downshifting is easy and natural. Accelerations are an absolute treat, engine sounds and pulls fantastic. There is an axle boot that is torn as well as tired front suspension that does knock on deep potholes. Exhaust is aftermarket however the welds are less than to be desired, we would recommend eventually having them re done. No rust underneath, body is clean and healthy. We are currently addressing an exterior driver door handle that is inop (inside door handle functions perfectly).

Vehicle offered for sale with a clean Oregon title in the buyers name.
