1992 BMW 525i AC Schnitzer + Breyton *SOLD*
Now Available! Our second E34 AC Schnitzer kit’d car stateside, 3rd overall Schnitzer fitted BMW. This is a gorgeous car from every angle, it is elegant but simultaneously sporty enough to look like its ready to romp the Autobahn. This E34 steals everyones attention in our shop. This car is fitted with extremely rare/high quality period correct aftermarket parts.
1992 525i, right hand drive, 42,000 original miles and going up as we continue to test it and get it back on the road.
Exterior:
Lazur Blau, one of our favorite colors, is in fantastic condition with no clear coat failure or signs of damage/decay. In the sun this is a metallic purple and in the shade it is a deep blue, tons of flake make it pop in every light. Looks like some repaint work has been done at some point in this cars life, but it looks very well done at that. Front valance/bumper is original and extremely rare Breyton in great condition, side skirts are AC Schnitzer, rear apron is Schnitzer as is rear spoiler. A HELLA heckblende fitted to add some extra 90’s flare to the rear. AC Schnitzer 17 inch wheels, squared, with brand new 245/45r17 tires (we opted for a larger sidewall then normal for a better fit). Paint isn’t as mint as the rest of the car under the taillights, this is the only section of the car that reflects this. We also are slowly removing some adhesive that remains from where a chrome trim had been added to the trunk lid. Usual signs of wear being a car from 1992, random small scuffs or paint chips. Front vance and skirts have scraping on the underside as per usual. Panels line up great, no sign of accident history.
Interior:
Cloth comfort interior is in great condition for its age. Seats reflect the low mileage with no rips, tears, holes or signs of wear. All manual seat functions work for driver and passenger side. Door cards have the usual failing glue on misc cloth trim, some TLC and adhesive can fix this. Headliner is tight but could use a good steam cleaning. Rear seats look to have never been sat in. Dash is straight with no cracks or warping. Some old adhesive is leftover on the dash from a previous owner mounting accessories. There is an electric review mirror that has a built in camera as well as a standard Japanese toll meter that yells at you in Japanese on every start up. An aftermarket heads up display style 90’s speedometer is fitted to the dash, we kind of like its quirkiness. Radio works fantastic (aftermarket unit), all lights work inside, all cluster components work, even the electric mirror adjustment motors work. Sun roof opens and closes as it should. All windows open and close perfectly, central locking works from both driver and passenger door. Heat blows hot, rear defrost works great, AC blows cool but can use a recharge to get to ice cold. Nardi wooden steering wheel is a great touch.
Mechanical:
Car has not dropped a single drop of fluid for us, and is holding fluid levels perfectly. Fires right up with no hesitation, no smoke or odd noises. Very healthy sounding M50 6 cylinder engine. Car accelerates appropriately for a 189hp engine, sport mode shift pattern helps to make it a bit peppier. Economy mode keeps the rpm’s down, we recommend switching to Sport for steep hill passes. Shifts are smooth once warmed up, all gears used at according times. Electric cooling fans kick in as they should and the cooling system stays exactly where it should. We put 50 or so miles from steep hill climbs to simply idling in 70 degree weather for 10-20 minutes with no cooling issues. Front of the car does sit a bit high, overall itcould use some suspension and bushing love down the road, whether someone wanted to go with OEM or coilovers. It is completely daily driveable as it sits.
Overall this car is a sleek, unique and extremely fun looking E34 in drivers condition with an amazing color.
Offered at $14,900 in Portland Oregon with a clean Oregon title issued in the buyers name.
