1998 BMW 323i Alpina Optik *SOLD*

1998 BMW 323i Alpina Optik *SOLD*
Fresh in! This Japanese market E46 is one that has the looks, the power and the comfort. We sourced this particular car from its original owner overseas, he had the vehicle dealer serviced its entire life. The odometer currently reads 34,xxx miles and is verified to be accurate.
Exterior: The original BMW paint has held up wonderfully, with no clear coat failure or signs of oxidation. There are usual signs of wear in the form of small dings, scuffs and chips as to be expected with a car of this age. But overall this car is exponentially cleaner then the majority of US spec e46’s. No major dents or dings, no rust or corrosion. All panels match, line up, and show no history of accident damage. Headlights were replaced with oem units recently as the prior owner noticed fogging/hazing. On the front end is an original, dealer fitted Alpina from lip. This does have the optional gold deco lettering. To match the front lip, the dealership also fitted Alpina wheels. All wheels are in amazing condition, some paint peeling on the center caps but all are straight, crack free, and lacking any rash. The icing on the cake is the Japanese parking pole, a genuine OEM BMW dealer option.
Interior: No pesky seat motors here, nor the usual tired leather that we’ve come to expect. This E46 has a very healthy cloth interior with matching door cars, manual seat adjustments that work perfectly. The wood trim was wrapped with a faux wood tape, its honestly not horrible for what it is. All interior pieces are complete and working, this car was spec’d with the navigation system which can also be used as a TV with some research. Radio is spot on, factory speakers work great. Blowers are strong with no squeaks or odd noises. All windows and sunroof work excluding the passenger front window, it seems it will need a new motor. Central locking works perfectly, locking all corners and trunk. Headliner is a bit saggy, as with all of our European spec imports. All in all this is a very comfortable interior, no odd smells or noises. Car does come free of charge with the most Japanese vent style cup holders as well as the original leather owners manual full of dealer documents.
Mechanical: When we found this car overseas, we knew it was a good one based on its history. When it arrived at our shop, we weren’t let down. The car runs and drives beautifully, no leaks or smells, no odd noises or concerns. Suspension was swapped out for Alpina shocks and springs by the dealership when the car was new, they lower the car without compromising ride quality. Steering is very tight, as are brakes. Throttle is punchy, automatic transmission shifting when it should and not slipping. We would advise on possible replacing the tie rods as there is light pulling on uneven roads, its not an urgent concern by any means. No overheating or uneven idle. All in all its ready to go, time to put some miles on it!
Estimated price range of $10,500 with a clean Oregon title in the buyers name.
